You might want to go for a gate set. This means that everything you need for your gate, except the wood, comes included. For example, a modern style walk gate hardware set will include rust proof heavy duty hinges, a latch which includes a striker bar and receiver, a gate handle and the mounting screws necessary to install the hardware. There are other styles as well, such as the traditional walk gate set. This includes many of the same materials except the latch is a paddle latch and the ornamental handle is styled differently. Your contractor should take your preferences into consideration when it comes to the look and operation of your fence and its necessary hardware.
